Welcome our new Assistant Superintendent for Business/CSBO

James (Jim) Vreeland has been approved by the Board of Education to serve as the next Assistant Superintendent of Business (CSBO), succeeding Tim Neubauer who will retire at the end of the 2023-2024 school year. Jim currently serves as the Business Manager for District 89, a public elementary school district that make up students from the Maywood, Melrose Park, and Broadview communities.

During his tenure at District 89, Jim focused on initiatives to enhance the learning environment for students and supported the implementation of a district-wide facility master plan. Previously, he served as the Director of Mathematics and Science and Assistant Principal in Schaumburg Community Consolidated School District 54. Jim brings 21 years of experience in the educational field, with 17 years as an administrator.

Jim holds a Bachelor’s degree from Illinois State University, a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from National Louis University, and a Master’s degree in School Business Management from Northern Illinois University.

As a proud parent of two goalies, Jim spends his evenings and weekends at hockey rinks and occasionally laces up his own skates for a hockey game. Additionally, he enjoys “glamping” with his family, partaking in campfire cookouts, and embracing the outdoors.
