West Student Wins Regeneron ISEF Special Award

West Student Joseph Cinquemani, Award Winner

Niles West High School SIRs science research student, Joseph Cinquemani, won the Aerojet Rocketydyne Foundation First Award of $1,500 at the Regeneron International Science Fair (ISEF). Each year more than 1,800 high school students from around the world compete at the Regeneron ISEF science fair. Students earn the right to compete by winning top prize at local, regional, or state science fairs. Joseph qualified to compete with his research project, Effect of Geometric Manipulation on the Main Combustion Chamber of a Full- Flow Staged Rocket Engine.

Aerojet Rocketdyne, a subsidiary of Aerojet Rocketdyne Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:AJRD), is a world-recognized aerospace and defense leader that provides propulsion systems and energetics to the space, missile defense and strategic systems, and tactical systems areas, in support of domestic and international customers. Joseph Cinquemani was one of five researchers who won the First Award of $1,500. Aerojet Rocketdyne Foundation Explore Awards for Excellence in: Innovation, Engineering, Design, Research, and Science.

Congratulations to Joseph Cinquemani and his SIRs research teacher Parin Patel. All students (grades 9-12) are welcome to enroll in the SIRS research course to work on authentic science research at Niles West High School.
