The best 1,000 student artists from more than 125 Illinois high schools converged in February at the 5th annual Illinois High School Art Exhibition (IHSAE) to showcase their art and vie for more than $43,000,000 in college scholarships. The Senior Scholarship Exhibition is one of Illinois’ largest and most influential student scholarship exhibitions and serves as both a celebration of students’ artistic achievement and as a means of providing talented young artists with opportunities in higher education. The Senior Scholarship Exhibition is currently exhibited at the Bridgeport Art Center at 1200 W. 35th Street, located in Chicago’s Bridgeport neighborhood. The IHSAE received over 300 senior portfolio submissions (over 6,000 individual works) for scholarship review. Once the review is completed, artwork for the exhibition is selected on the basis of scholarship offer(s).
