Stephanie Hentz has been appointed Niles West High School’s new Director of Special Education, approved by the Niles Township High School District 219 Board of Education at its August 7 meeting. She is currently Assistant Director of Special Education at the school.
Hentz came to Niles West in 2007 as a School Social Worker and served in that role for six years. In 2013 she was appointed Assistant Director of Student Services, and in 2015 she became Assistant Director of Special Education.
Earlier in her career, Hentz ran several before- and after-school programs for middle school students in the San Diego area. She also ran the Wilderness Orientation program at the University of California San Diego for multiple years.
Hentz holds a Master’s degree in School Leadership from Concordia University, Chicago and a Master’s in Social Work from University of Illinois at Chicago. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology at Northwestern University.
