Seven Niles West students took part in a full day immersion program organized by the Northern Illinoi American Association of French Teachers. The event took place on Saturday, March 3 at Dominican University in River Forest. Students spoke French for the entire day and were treated to croissants, jus de fruit, and lunch. Activities included visits to different Francophone cultures and cultural festivals including passport stamping, linguistic games, an escape house, a treasure hunt, and participating with Jam ak Jam, a song/dance/drumming group from Senegal and based in Milwaukee.
West students who participated include: Wiaam Azzoum, Patricia Calma, Danny Tabet, Kate Karaman, Amani Laliwala, Crystalin Chau and Niyah Poole. They were accompanied by Niles West French teacher Leslie Natzke.
