Huge congratulations to AP 2D Visual Art seniors, A.J. Brown and Kyla Henderson, 
on being accepted to the Black Creatives Juried Art Exhibition at the Museum of Science and Industry (MSI) here in Chicago. This is a two-part show that features the work of professional/amateur Black creatives and Black teen creatives. The students had to submit to the exhibition, and their artwork was chosen and displayed at the museum.
Special congratulations to Kyla Henderson whose photographic triptych piece, titled “Intertwined”, won Best in the Show in a pool of over 100 entries. 
For 50 years, the Museum of Science and Industry has hosted the nation’s premier exhibition of African American art. The Juried Art Exhibition is a pillar of the Museum’s Black Creativity program, showcasing African American achievement in various scientific, artistic, and technological fields. Each year, the Black Creativity Juried Art Exhibition presents more than 100 works of art from professional and emerging Black artists from throughout the U.S. 
This longest-running exhibition of African American art has been displayed annually at MSI since 1970. Black Creativity Juried Art Exhibition features paintings, drawings, fine art prints, sculpture, mixed media, ceramics, and photography by African Americans, including youth artists between the ages of 14 and 17.
