Oluwafunmilayo Ajayi has been named as the K-8 Mathematics Director for the Classrooms First Collaboration (CFC). The Niles Township High School District 219 Board of Education approved Ajayi’s appointment at its June 9 meeting. Ajayi will coordinate articulation of the mathematics curricula for the elementary school districts that are part of CFC and will work closely in collaboration with the mathematics directors at the D219 high schools.
Ajayi brings to the position experience leading change in learning environments both in the United States and abroad. She served as Education Lead for LeapEd Services for four years in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where she led a team of eight international advisors who coached and mentored leadership teams as part of a national reformation project for the Malaysian Ministry of Education. She has served since 2011 as an education and organizational development consultant for Clarity Alignment Solutions, LLC. Among her many projects, she led the AI for Education Initiative for AI Time Journal, an international journal dedicated to application-based artificial intelligence, consulted on the Strategic Plan for the Gary School District, and provided mathematics and science professional development for the LEARN Charter School Network.
Ajayi served Chicago Public Schools for seven years as a Mathematics and Science teacher and as a K-6 Science Instructional Coach.
Ajayi earned her Master of Arts in Education Administration from Governors State University and holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from Chicago State University. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Industrial and Organizational Applied Psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
