Morton Grove Baseball & Softball Association
The young girls of Niles Township have great fun playing softball in their local town through practices, games and clinics. They are served by a group of dedicated people who work year round to provide programs for their players. It is their objective to introduce, instruct and encourage players to seek their own athletic goals and reach their maximum ability.
Skokie Youth Athletics, Lincolnwood Baseball Association and Morton Grove Baseball & Softball Association offer a positive and rewarding environment for girls Kindergarten through 8th grade to learn softball, sportsmanship and have fun with friends and schoolmates.
These organizations are all-volunteer and rely mostly upon parents to provide an introduction to new players and basic skill instruction at the various age levels.
Registration & Fees
Registration for the house leagues normally takes place December thru February and the leagues encourage early registration to ensure placement on a team. Fees are paid directly to the association and the fees are used to provide everything needed to play including equipment, uniforms and umpires.
Teams from Skokie, Lincolnwood and Morton Grove play each other in a “Tri-Town” league that runs May through June. Games are held in each community, although each team will travel to neighboring towns for some games. Teams are formed in the spring and practices begin in April, weather permitting.
Coaches and players attend clinics throughout the year. These are conducted by Niles North and Niles West coaching staffs and are intended to improve skills and introduce techniques that raise the level of play for all. Interaction between the high school coaches and players provides an opportunity to gain knowledge and establish relationships as the player ages towards her high school career. Players are encouraged to attend clinics and register for summer camps at the high schools.
