Students to Attend Summer Writing Program

This summer, Niles West juniors Rishi Patel and Michelle Kim will join more than 80 other high school juniors on the Carleton College, MN campus for three weeks of intensive writing instruction, activities, and friendship. Patel and Kim earned scholarships to the Summer Writing Program, which is open to college-bound high school students who have completed their junior year and have strong reading and writing abilities. Each day will begin with a discussion of literature with a Carleton professor, followed by a writing workshop. Participants will receive extensive written evaluations of three college essays written during the program, as well as an evaluation of each student’s participation.
