Student Accepted to Summer Research Program at Loyola University

Niles West High School student Lyba Zia has been accepted in the American Chemical Society Project SEED research program at Loyola University. Entry into the program is highly competitive and Zia will gain priceless experience by working within a research team for the eight-week program. The goal of the research is to design and synthesize inhibitors of a bacterial enzyme that are useful as new antibiotics to treat human disease and infections.
