Sophomore English Classes Write Persuasive Papers

Sharon Swanson’s sophomore English students at Niles West High School recently donated more than $400 to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, CureSearch and Heifer International. The class assignment called for writing a persuasive research paper convincing others to donate to a particular charity. Each class voted for the winning paper and then raised funds to benefit that charitable organization. Winning papers were submitted by:  Erin Fair, 4th period class, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society; Rachel Bender, 7th period class, CureSearch; and Connie Lay-Ngo, 8th period class, Heifer International.
