Eric Rosen (North) reigning K-12 Chess Champion on ABC 7 news

July 7, 2012 (CHICAGO) -- Chess requires patience, concentration, brain power and strategy. One young player from Skokie will use those skills to try and win the national title in the 2012 U.S. Junior Chess Championships, one of the most prestigious chess events that occurs in the U.S.
Eric Rosen, 18, visited the ABC7 studio to tell us about his strategy.
The tournament will take place at the Chess Club and Scholastic Center of Saint Louis from July 10 - 15. The top 16 Junior players in the nation will play for the title of U.S. Junior Champion, more than $18,000 in prizes and a highly coveted invitation to the 2013 U.S. Junior Championship.
