English Classes Raise Money for Charity

Sharon Swanson’s English students at Niles West High School recently completed a writing assignment: a persuasive research paper that would convince others to donate to charity. Each class voted for the winning paper and then raised funds to benefit that organization. The winning papers were submitted by:  Conor Antic, Fisher House Foundation; Mary Sim, The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention; James McLellan, Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF). Ms. Swanson and her classes raised $470 to donate to those organizations.

This is the 13th year that Swanson and her English classes have donated to charity.
